SOLIS SRLS (IT) is proud to be a partner in BeyondWheels, a European project funded under the Erasmus+ Programme (KA210 – Adult Education), aimed at fostering inclusion, employability and autonomy for adults with locomotor disabilities.
BeyondWheels responds to a shared European challenge: despite existing policies and support mechanisms, many inclusion pathways for people with disabilities still rely on outdated, protective models that restrict professional growth and limit access to ordinary work environments. Too often, the focus remains on limitations rather than on people’s talent, aspirations and potential.
The project proposes a clear shift in perspective — from assistance to empowerment, from dependency to agency.
Our Mission: Empowering Life and Career Paths
The mission of BeyondWheels is to support adults with locomotor disabilities in building their personal and professional projects, aligned with their aspirations and real opportunities.
Rather than starting from disability as a defining element, BeyondWheels places the individual at the centre of the process, promoting:
autonomy and self-determination,
confidence and motivation,
access to meaningful employment, self-employment or entrepreneurial pathways.
As illustrated in the project visual identity, the journey is represented as a shared path, where people with and without disabilities move forward together, opening doors to new opportunities and life choices.
Focusing on Potential, Not Limitations
A key principle of BeyondWheels is the conscious decision to focus on potential rather than limitations. This means overcoming assistential and segregated models and recognising that real inclusion happens in ordinary environments, where skills, ideas and motivation prevail over labels.
The project actively promotes a mindset change — for participants, trainers and organisations — encouraging a vision of inclusion based on dignity, responsibility and participation
The BeyondWheels Method: A Holistic Approach
At the core of the project lies the BeyondWheels Method, a holistic training and coaching approach designed to transform personal aspirations into concrete and sustainable projects.
The method integrates four complementary pillars:
Psychology: Supporting mindset shifts towards growth, opportunity and self-awareness.
CoachingFostering personal empowerment, autonomy and self-direction in decision-making processes.
Strategic Analysis. Identifying real-world career, employment and entrepreneurial opportunities within specific contexts.
Project Management Tools. Equipping participants with practical skills to plan, structure and implement their goals.
Together, these pillars enable participants to move from ideas to action, building realistic and achievable life projects.
Sustainable Impact and Long-Term Vision
BeyondWheels is designed for long-term impact. A central element of the project is the train-the-trainers approach, which ensures that the methodology can be transferred, adapted and scaled beyond the project’s duration.
By training professionals who work — or wish to work — with adults with locomotor disabilities, the project contributes to:
sustainability of results,
replication in different European contexts,
continuous improvement of inclusive employability practices.
The image of the growing tree used in the project communication symbolises this long-term vision: roots grounded in solid methodology, branches extending across Europe.
A European Partnership
BeyondWheels is built on a strong pan-European collaboration, bringing together complementary expertise from different countries:
CarpoACE Europe (Spain) – Project Coordinator
SOLIS SRLS (Italy) – Partner
Poraka Nova (North Macedonia) – Partner
This transnational cooperation allows the project to address inclusion and employability from diverse perspectives, enriching the methodology through shared knowledge, practices and cultural contexts.
The Role of SOLIS SRLS
Within BeyondWheels, SOLIS SRLS contributes its expertise in:
adult education and lifelong learning,
participatory and empowerment-based methodologies,
social inclusion and work with vulnerable groups,
quality assurance, sustainability and impact monitoring,
European communication and dissemination.
Through this project, SOLIS reinforces its commitment to a Europe where inclusion is not symbolic, but concrete, participatory and transformative.
